Kosi · Almora · Kumaon Himalayas
A modern container retreat perched on the hillsides above the Kosi river. For those who need wild silence more than anything else.
The Retreat
Nestled in a grove of 80-year-old chir pine trees, Soul Kumaon is a precision-crafted container home built into the natural contour of the hillside above Kosi, Almora. The Kosi river catches the morning light a hundred feet below. Rhododendron and oak close in on either side.
This is not a resort. This is a home — designed to disappear into the mountain and let the landscape do all the talking.
In & Around

"I came for a weekend. I stayed for two weeks."
The Feeling
At Soul Kumaon, mornings begin with birds you haven't heard in years — the Himalayan bulbul, the crested serpent eagle, the laughingthrush that wakes you at 6am. The pine forest starts at the edge of the deck and goes up until it becomes sky.
This is the kind of place that rearranges your sense of what matters. We've had guests come for two nights and rebook for a month. We've had people begin novels here. We've had people simply stop doing anything at all — and find it was exactly what they needed.
Writers, remote workers, couples, solo retreats, creative resets
Year-round. Winter brings snow. April–June is spectacular. Monsoon is lush and private.

Guest Stories
"Soul Kumaon is not a place you visit. It's a place that visits you — quietly, slowly, in the weeks after you've left. The pine smell stays with you."
"We drove 6 hours from Gurugram on a Friday evening. By Saturday morning we had already cancelled our flight home and extended the booking by a week."
"The Kumaoni dinner on the second night. The bonfire. The sound of the Kosi in the dark. I don't think I've been that at peace in years."
